Whether it’s an ex-partner or an annoying colleague, people often wish to find out what groups they share with someone on WhatsApp. The days of searching through old chats are now a thing of the past, thanks to a clever new feature.
Users can search for a contact’s name and see the groups they share with them. The new tool is one of two new features for WhatsApp groups.
“We’re excited to introduce some new changes we’ve made to make groups easier for admins to manage and for everyone to navigate,” WhatsApp said.
To find groups you share with someone, open the WhatsApp app and type the contact’s name in the search bar. Below the direct chat with that person, you can now search the groups you share with them, writes DailyMail.
New control for Whatsapp group administrators
The second update is a new control for group administrators, who can now see all requests in one place.
“As more people join communities, we want to give group administrators more control over group privacy. So we’ve developed a simple tool that allows administrators to decide who can join a group,” WhatsApp explains.
When an administrator decides to share an invitation link for their group or approve their group to join a community, they now have more control over who can join.
Groups are where people have some of their most intimate conversations, and it’s important that administrators can easily decide who can and cannot join a group. The new features will be rolled out globally in the coming weeks.
